For every order, rates for different services and delivery times are automatically displayed in our portal or via our API. In this overview, you can book your shipment with just one click. Additionally, through our smart shipping software, we also automate the pick & pack process in your warehouse and the printing of shipping labels. Commercial invoices are generated automatically.

PostNL Letterbox Parcel

Standard

• Bring yourself (or your customer for returns) to a Post Office, PostNL Service Point or lockerbox
• Delivered in a letterbox at a business or residential address from Tuesday through Saturday
• The shipping label is valid for 3 business days. After this, PostNL charges a surcharge
• Maximum weight of 2 kilograms
• Maximum dimensions 38 x 26 x 3 cm per parcel
• Maximum girth measurement (1x length plus 2x width plus 2x height) of 98 cm
• Limited track-and-trace and no option to trace the parcel
• Each parcel is sent as letter mail (no compensation for loss and theft)

NEW

48-hour Mailbox Parcel

We now offer the 48-hour mailbox parcel service (product code 2948) in addition to the existing 24-hour service (product code 2928).

• X/Y split at volume > 50,000: If you ship more than 50,000 of these 48-hour mailbox parcels annually, a mandatory X/Y split applies. PostNL prints the assigned X or Y directly on the shipping label.
• API update: An additional field has been added to the Wuunder API response that returns the assigned X or Y value. This allows you to pre-sort more easily.

Smart routing

From August 10, 2026, PostNL will ship your parcels to Germany even smarter. With Germany Smart Routing, the PostNL system automatically selects the best delivery partner for your shipment. This means different carriers within Germany. This is comparable to parties like Asendia and Maersk (B2C Europe).

Sorted and delivered

PostNL offers next-day delivery across the Netherlands with Saturday delivery to residential addresses as standard. Letterbox parcels fit through the mailbox without requiring a signature, ideal for small e-commerce orders. If the first delivery attempt fails at a business address, PostNL makes a free second attempt.

Q: Can I combine PostNL with other carriers? A: Yes. In Wuunder you connect PostNL alongside DHL, DPD, UPS and more. Per shipment, the best option is automatically selected based on your shipping rules. For example, you can automatically select the cheapest service or the fastest service.

Q: Can I show PostNL rates in my checkout? A: Yes. With Wuunder Checkout you display real-time PostNL rates and delivery times to your customers at checkout. The rates account for surcharges such as customs duties, diesel, length or weight.
